When life hands you lemons…

Wow…here we are….my first blog since, well…ever. I have to say, this has been something that I have been putting off for so long and it feels so good to be sitting at my dining room table in front of our great bay window all while watching my plant babies bathe in the sun. But aside from that, I was mainly inspired by something that happened.

Yesterday was the perfect (unfortunate) example of “When life hands you lemons…”. I don know about you, but there’s nothing exciting about having a couple be let down because of a stupid dang bag full of lemons. Amirite?

Collin & Sarah are two cuties that I booked for a wedding this Fall. So we made plans to meet up at a spunky and colorful hotel in the Fayetteville Square to take their engagement photos. Now let’s go back a week from today. If you were in Arkansas or any part of the world for that matter, we got hit with a little snow storm that doesn’t happen to often here. We hit even hit a record breaking low of -15 degrees. Unfortunately a lot businesses weren’t prepared for this type of freeze and are now cleaning up the aftermath of it. Fast foward to yesterday….as I was 3 minutes away from our location, Sarah called and said the words I dread for a couple… ” I have horrible news”. My heart sank and I waited for the anvil to drop. The pipes at the hotel had burst and flooding had occurred due to the weather. The first words I said “Don’t panic, this is still going to be an awesome session”.

When I arrived, we found that we were limited to using the 2nd floor. If you’ve ever seen the interior of this place…you’d understand how at this point… it was my full responsibility to totally make it up to them regardless of it being weather related issue. Sarah had a vision & I couldn’t let her walk away with any doubts.

So I threw on my main squeeze to calm the mood… ( John Mayer of course)…& we got to work…

I mean…c’mon, they don’t look too upset 🙂

I didn’t want to use all the magic at once, so we decided to take a stroll around the Fayetteville Historic Square & the rest is history. So when life hands you lemons… squeeze the juice out of em & throw it in its face because…Love conquers all.
